~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Every Thursday at Like Mother, Like Daughter!

{pretty}
When traveling to visit my fiance, I have to take 4 trains.  First, the Long Island Railroad to Pennsylvania Station.  Then the 1 uptown to 42nd  Street - Times Square.  Then the Shuttle train to - oh la la!  The beauty of Grand Central Station on a Saturday morning! The hustle and bustle! The adventure of trying to help French tourists who don't speak much English.  And then the train into Connecticut!

{happy}
Ignore the whited out pillow - this is our beautiful future bedspread for our married life!  I adore it!

{funny}
Some of my family
This month, one of my sisters moved out of the house to an apartment in a local beach town.  She and her roomies decided to throw a "Family Day" party on Sunday, so we could all meet and mingle.  At first, the two families were not mingling much - until a transformer blew and we were plunged into darkness!  With a few candles lit, we began to play charades and laughed and laughed and laughed.  It was a great time!

{real}

I was so happy to post the above spinach and cheese popovers image and recipe for Beth Anne's Best and Tales from Astoria's Meatless Monday link up...but then I realized someone already posted it!  These are delicious, though, and I can't wait to eat them tomorrow!

  1. And thennnnnn...after a glorious ride on MetroNorth, you experience the wonder of what is New Haven's Union Station. LOL But at least B is there, waiting for you. :)

  2. I've never been to New York but I used to get the same feeling when I arrived at Union Station in Toronto! Ad I loved picking out linens for our married life in the days leading up to our wedding. :)

  6. I dream of going to New York one day and visiting Grand Central Station, and what the heck, even the Apple Store there. One of these days.

    Glad to see that things seem well with your fiancé.

    And those popovers...mmmm...

    Blessings.
