#7QT: "Traditional with a Twist"

A week in review

{Saturday}
I returned shoes at Macy's and then went to reconciliation at my parish.  On Saturdays, reconciliation is available between 1 and 2 p.m.  I arrived at the church at 1:04 and found 14 people already in line!  That was the longest wait I've ever had for confession!  It was a little annoying but uplifting at the same time - there were a few young adults, some elementary school kids with their mom, a nun, and the usual elderly folk.

"Our sins are nothing but a grain of sand alongside the great mountain of the mercy of God." - St. John Vianney, the Cure of Ars

Afterwards, I headed back out to shop for wedding shoes at TJ Maxx, but didn't find what I'm looking for.

{Sunday}
Went to Mass, layered up for a walk around the neighborhood, and later did a yoga DVD.  Hopped into bed around 10:30 pm (so early for me) but insomnia struck!  I was awake until about 4:30 am, which made me very, very cranky.  I spent the first 3 hours pretending I was about to fall asleep at any moment, and then I gave up, read the Bible, prayed the rosary, texted my fiance, "I AM SO ANNOYED RIGHT NOW," took Benedryl, drank a glass of warm milk, and begged to fall asleep.

{Monday}
Dragged by tired butt out of bed at 7:30 and went to work.  Took a cat nap during lunch.  Survived work.  Ate dinner.  Chatted on the phone with my fiance.  Went to bed.

{Tuesday}
Went to David's Bridal for the millionth time.  Finally happy with the alterations made to fix the defects my wedding gown kept coming in with (we ordered 4 versions of the gown and every one had puckering).  Hopefully soon I can start the real alterations.

{Wednesday}
Addressed more wedding invitations and personally delivered one to my grandparents' house.  My grandma says the invite is "traditional with a twist," which is exactly how I'd describe it, too!

{Thursday}
Knew that if I went home after work, I'd never make it to the mall.  Drove straight there, circled the food court for free samples (for sustenance, of course), and then began wedding shoe shopping, part 5.  This time, I think I was successful!  Woo!  I am going to test the shoes out for a longer period of time tonight at home but I have a really good feeling about them!  They are silver sparkly platform t-strap heels that felt like air when I wore them.

{Friday}
 It's snowing here today!  Doesn't the angel boy in my backyard look so cold?

  1. Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding.

    There's usually a lot of people for Confession in our church on Saturday. I never realised we had so many sinners in our town!

    God bless.
